From Insight to Innovation: The Evolution of MarkCompare
I'm Juan Pita, founder of MarkCompare. For over a decade, I worked deep inside the intellectual property industry, advising companies on how to navigate the complex world of legal technology. Since the launch of MarkCompare in 2024, my primary role has been to provide objective, impartial advice, helping clients select the right tools and strategies for their specific needs.

​In countless consultations, a deeper, more universal problem became impossible to ignore. The real bottleneck wasn't just selecting the right software; it was the chaotic, manual process of managing the vendors, budgets, and performance after the fact. The true source of frustration lived in a maze of spreadsheets, endless email chains, and a complete lack of real-time visibility. Strategic decisions were being hindered by operational guesswork.

It became clear that advice alone wasn't enough. We needed to build the tool we wished our clients always had to overview all the other tools we advise them to implement for their workflow. That is why we are building Vendiqa.
Today, MarkCompare embodies a dual mission born from this experience. Vendiqa will be our software platform, designed to bring clarity, control, and predictability to vendor and spend management for in-house legal teams and law firms. It is the scalable solution to the universal problem we have observed for years.

Meet the Team
As an expert in legal and IP software, I have spent over a decade in the trenches with corporate teams and law firms, guiding them through the complexities of technology selection, vendor transition, and spend management. My role has always been to find clarity in the noise, ensuring the solutions my clients adopt deliver tangible value.

This unique vantage point revealed a universal challenge: even with the best intentions, teams were consistently hampered by a lack of simple, powerful tools to control their budgets and measure vendor performance. The reliance on manual spreadsheets was not just inefficient; it was a barrier to making truly strategic decisions.

Today, my work is twofold. As Principal Consultant for MarkCompare, I continue to provide bespoke strategic advice for complex operational challenges. As the product visionary for Vendiqa, I am focused on building the intuitive, powerful platform that I wish my clients always had.

Born in Uruguay and now based in Ireland, I bring a global perspective to my work, having lived in six countries. When I’m not focused on legal tech, you can find me working out, exploring a field with my metal detector, tracing my family's genealogy, or pouring the perfect mate.
I am the lead developer for Vendiqa, responsible for transforming our strategic vision into a robust and intuitive software platform.

My background in language and education taught me how to break down complex systems into clear, logical structures—a skill I now apply to writing clean code and designing user-friendly interfaces. My passion is for creating technology that feels effortless and empowering, allowing our users to focus on their strategic work, not on fighting with their software.

From building the backend architecture to refining the front-end experience, my goal is to ensure Vendiqa is not only powerful but also a pleasure to use.

Born and raised in Ireland, my love for learning extends beyond technology. When I’m not coding, I’m usually hiking in the Irish countryside, travelling to connect with new cultures, or spending quality time with my family.
