This policy explains how MarkCompare handles personal data collected through this website, markcompare.com. It does not cover the VendIQa platform, which has its own privacy policy.
Who we are
MarkCompare, a business name registered in Ireland under registration number 748157, 322 Station Walk, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland, is the controller of your personal data. Contact: info@markcompare.com.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, business email address and message.
- Technical data: your IP address and basic browser information, processed by our hosting and security providers to deliver the site and protect the form from spam.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and, where relevant, discuss our services before you become a customer: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the website secure and the form free from abuse: our legitimate interest in protecting our service (Art. 6(1)(f)).
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list without your consent.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under data processing terms:
- Cloudflare: website hosting and Turnstile spam protection.
- Brevo: delivery of contact form messages to our inbox.
- Google Workspace: our email.
We may also disclose data where required by law. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form enquiries for up to 24 months after our last exchange with you, unless they lead to a customer relationship, in which case they are kept for as long as that relationship requires. Technical logs are kept by our providers for short periods in line with their own policies.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies of its own. Cloudflare Turnstile may use strictly necessary technical data to tell people from bots when you use the contact form.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, to object to our use of it, or to receive a copy in a portable format. Email info@markcompare.com and we will reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie) or to the supervisory authority where you live.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
